Caverion
Caverion designs, builds, operates, and maintains intelligent and energy-efficient solutions for buildings, industries, and infrastructures in Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe. Caverion collaborates in the SYNERGY project as a demonstration activity partner and key business stakeholder, leveraging their extensive knowledge in building energy and facility management.
CIRCE
CIRCE is a leading Spanish RTO in the domains of Smart Grids and Energy Services. Its significant experience and infrastructure will be pivotal for the implementation of the SYNERGY activities. CIRCE aims to use its vast experience in energy analytics services in order to facilitate the project validation activities. In addition, CIRCE will be able to support the design and energy system modeling activities in the Spanish demonstrators, acting as a technical partner for the Spanish demo.
Within the SYNERGY project, CIRCE will lead the task of Facility Management Energy Analytics, Self-Consumption Optimization, and Predictive Maintenance.
Ponikve eko otok Krk
Ponikve eko otok Krk is a public company owned by the 7 municipalities on the island of Krk (Krk, Baška, Dobrinj, Malinska – Dubašnica, Omišalj, Punat and Vrbnik). They operate in the sectors of Energetics (renewable sources of energy, public lightning, electric vehicles, electric charging stations, bike sharing, car sharing, monitoring.. etc), Water system and water supply, and Garbage disposal and recycling.
The company in conjunction with all 7 municipalities has set a goal to be an Energy independent island and an Island with zero percent CO2 emission. Therefore the island of Krk has been put in the EU catalog of good practices as one of the best EU islands in the energy transition. Within the SYNERGY project, Ponikve eko otok Krk will be taking part as a demo partner.

„Wirtschaftsagentur Burgenland Forschungs- und Innovations GmbH“ comprises the know-how and personnel to manage and coordinate projects with focus on Applied Research and even beyond. Due to the company’s integration into the provincial holding company, close collaboration with the respective sister companies is enabled. As for the new company, the focus of the work lies on practice- oriented applications together with the university background approach of providing scientific analyses and evidence in real pilot projects.

Within SYNERGY, Suite5 holds the role of the Technical Coordinator of the project, while leading the project activities for the development of the SYNERGY Advanced AI Analytics Toolkit and the Data Sharing Mechanisms of the project.
UBITECH
UBITECH is a leading, highly innovative software house, systems integrator, and technology provider, established to provide leading-edge intelligent technical solutions and consulting services to businesses, organizations, and government in order to allow the efficient and effective secure access and communication with various heterogeneous information resources and services, anytime and anywhere.
UBITECH will hold a key role in the technical activities towards the delivery of the SYNERGY end to end data management platform and the deployment and configuration of the integrated platform at the different pilot sites. UBITECH will lead the definition of the overall system design and architecture definition along with interface specifications for the Big Data-enabled Energy Services, as well as the implementation of the SYNERGY Interoperable Big Data Management Platform.
The European Centre for Renewable Energy Güssing
The European Centre for Renewable Energy Güssing was founded to professionally coordinate and implement all projects related to renewable energy. The EEE has become a Europe-wide recognized institution for the development of sustainable regional and local concepts for energy saving and the use and production of renewable energy. As a reliable partner in various national and European networks, the EEE has gained an excellent reputation.
Based on its business role, EEE as a local cooperative, network institution, and aggregator will cooperate with the local DSO to test and demonstrate different actions within SYNERGY and contribute to the development of facility management and energy analytics. EEE will also promote and disseminate innovative project activities as well as important project results.
Motor Oil
Motor Oil is an energy group based in Greece. It was founded in 1970 and its refinery, one of the top refineries in Europe started operating in the region of Corinth in 1972. The Refinery complex has also a combined heat and power (CHP) Plant allowing all refining Units to be energy autonomous. MOH has an installed storage capacity of 2.5 million cubic meters (crude oil & products), an owned sea terminal which can accommodate vessels up to the size of a ULCC; one of the few ports in the Mediterranean that can accommodate such capacity. Also, a fully operational truck loading terminal delivers products to continental Greece and the region of Southeast Europe. The underlying philosophy of MOH, to achieve organic growth, is the company’s commitment to the strategy of “continuous investment”. MOH is listed in the Athens Exchange Market and achieves more than 50% of the Greek exports of the sector.
MOH also invests heavily in energy transition and aspires to remain a key player in a low-carbon energy world. KONČAR KET
KONČAR KET will actively contribute to ensuring interoperability over the lifetime of energy data, from the data acquisition towards the analytic and business scope within the SYNERGY project thus is tasked for establishing a Common Information Model for the project; and will act as a technical support partner for the Croatian pilot site, enabling data availability in the SYNERGY platform and further ensuring the prompt utilization of the different energy analytics services by the local business entities.
KONČAR KET has a wide experience in standardization: is a contributing member of IEC and more specifically in the Working Groups and Technical Committees working on the IEC 61850 and the IEC 62746 (OpenADR) standard families, but most importantly is a pioneer in development and integration of control center applications based on service-oriented paradigms and standards-compliant semantics.
KONČAR is a key partner in several research and innovation projects and as a proven and reliable integration partner and developer, the company delivers the path towards the networks of the future by developing and deploying viable, usable and applicable solutions and tools for the network operators and the users of the future.
Energy Service Ltd
As an Austrian energy trading and IT service provider Energy Service Ltd customers have access to highly specialized service portfolio covering energy trading and software as a service (SaaS) solutions like billing data management including standardized market communications) for suppliers, network operators, and local energy communities. Furthermore Energy Service Ltd plays a central role in different Smart Meter processes.
With respect to SYNERGY project activities, Energy Service Ltd will act as a technology provider and will be responsible for the data collection and management for the Austrian pilot site.

Knowledgebiz specializes in developing and implementing solutions targeted for manufacturing, health and public administration, covering different fields of Information Communication Technologies, focusing on IoT, data interoperability, end-to-end data integration, big data analytics and artificial intelligence.
Urbener
Since its foundation in 2010, Urbener is acting as a representative in the Spanish Electricity Market by managing the energy operations in the wholesale market of several companies including small traders and retailers. As a demand aggregator, Urbener will provide its wide experience to the development of demonstration activities involved in the SYNERGY Project by merging different stakeholders and actors from the Spanish Electricity System.
The University of Cyprus (UCY)
The University of Cyprus (UCY) is the largest University and main research organization in Cyprus. The University was established in 1989. UCY has a two-fold role in the SYNERGY project and thus contribute to different tasks is expected in the project.
Through the Research Center for Sustainable Energy (FOSS), UCY will contribute to the business modeling, energy simulation, and analytics tasks of the project, providing support at the demo users on the way to share and demonstrate data and analytics services in the platform.
Though the Laboratory for Internet Computing (LInC) UCY will analyze the regulatory obstacles to innovation regarding energy services, data exchanges & synergies, and new business models in Europe which will enable the definition of the European status around the envisaged services and synergetic data-sharing business models. LInC as one of the technical partners of SYNERGY will also contribute with technical know-how and software development efforts in various components of the platform. Finally, LInC will participate actively in the evaluation of the new data-driven and data sharing business model that will be developed as part of the project’s activities by using evidence arising from the pilot trials.
IPTO
IPTO is responsible for the operation of the electricity transmission grid in Greece with over 11 thousand km of system, covering the whole of mainland Greece and an increasing portion of the Greek Islands. As the Operator of the Hellenic Electricity Transmission System, IPTO’s mission is to ensure Greece’s electricity supply in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner while promoting the development of competition in the Greek electricity market and guaranteeing the non-discriminatory treatment of System users. IPTO with its main role as a TSO in the SYNERGY project will serve as an end-user in order to demonstrate big data management analytics services in areas of TSO interests such as smart asset management, preventing maintenance, data analytics, etc.
Fysiko Aerio
Fysiko Aerio – Hellenic Energy Company is an energy provider with a legacy of more than 160 years. It is the oldest gas supply company of the country and since 2018 the company is also active at the electricity market, providing full natural gas and electric power energy services. Currently, Fysiko Aerio counts more than 500 selling points and 400,000 clients and is constantly creating innovative and personalized services by responding to its customer’s needs.
Montaje Eléctricos Cuerva S.L. (MECSA)
Montaje Eléctricos Cuerva S.L. (MECSA) is part of Grupo Empresarial Cuerva, a Spanish electric utility, active in the energy and electricity sector for more than seventy years. Cuerva is committed to combining both development and growth with sustainability, innovation, and environmental preservation, relaying on the impulse and dedication of its more-than- 90-people-team. The group’s business areas comprise all electricity sector activities, namely electric power generation, distribution, and retailing. It also undertakes the installation and maintenance of electrical installations.
In the SYNERGY project, Cuerva will participate among other things in project foundations about use cases, business requirements, and architecture design with a focus on the role of the company in the project as DSO and retailer. In addition, CUE will provide feedback at the design and development phase of end-to-end interoperable Big Data Management Platform in and partial contribution at the specifications of personal/ industrial level analytics.
VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd
VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd is a state-owned and controlled non-profit limited liability company established by law and operating under the ownership steering of the Finnish Ministry of Employment and the Economy. VTT is an RTO whose activities are focused on three areas: Knowledge intensive products and services, Smart industry and energy systems, and Solutions for natural resources and environment.
VTT Technical Research Centre will bring in SYNERGY project the experience in the field of the district and urban planning and will support the demonstration activities in the Finnish pilot site. VTT will closely work with FVH and Caverion in order to coordinate the technical (data modeling, data sharing, and district energy management analytics) and business activities in this demo site.
