BRIDGE is a European Commission initiative that unites Horizon 2020 Smart Grid, Energy Storage, Islands, and Digitalisation Projects to create a structured view of cross-cutting issues that are encountered in the demonstration projects and may constitute an obstacle to innovation.
BRIDGE is structured with four permanent Working Groups: Data Management, Business Models, Regulation, and Customer Engagement. They are charged with preparing reports and formulating recommendations for the European Commission on various themes that are linked to the future of the energy sector. Moreover, three Task Forces work on specific topics: Energy Communities, Replicability/Scalability Analysis, and Joint Communication.
